Shady Hollow Flea Market Treasures

The love of vintage treasures and collections is very exciting!  My husband and hit the road to Detroit Lakes and I couldn't get there soon enough!  We pulled into the grass lot and I told Donovan that I think I need to run!  There was no need to run because there are so many treasures and here is my collection!

Tart Tin Treasure Jewelry

My collection of tart tins have many purposes when I create.  These tart tins can be big or small, rusty or shiny and are used to store/organize my vintage treasures.  The most creative use has truly been designing treasure pendants.

This collection  of tins has been filled with treasures and inspirational words and quotes.  I complete this process by sealing with diamond glaze and finishing the tins with epoxy resin.
I flattened this tart tin and created inspiration with license plates spelling HOPE!

New creations in 2013!

I've been so lucky this winter to be able to enjoy the snow and cold from my lovely studio in my dining room of my 108 year old home!  Here are few of the fun treasures that I've recreated into jewelry.
Silver collection of treasures!
These treasures include vintage leather & rosette with rhinestone earring :: yard stick & checker :: metal box & clip earring :: button & rhinestone pin :: rhinestone dress clip & domino ::  door rosette with button & locker pin.
Why can't I keep everything for my personal collection?

Recycled Gift Wrap

I love creating fabric rosettes and after reading the Sunday paper this summer, I set aside the comics and attempted a paper rosette.  They turned out great and I knew that I would not be recycling the comics.  The pile started to stack up all fall until I was ready for Christmas decorating.

I recruited my family to complete the presents!  My son painted the gift tags with chalkboard paint and my husband wrapped everything!  A fun family tradition!

Vintage Keys painted with Nail Polish

I couldn’t figure out what to do with my “junky” keys and of course I can’t throw anything away!  These were the keys that were too “junky” to create my necklaces from.  These keys were dirty and grimy so I cleaned and sanded them and pulled out my fingernail polish to paint.  I added a little bling with vintage buttons and attached the key with strips of ripped fabric!

Collecting Treasures!

It's been a fun & adventurous summer!  With every road trip taken, my husband searches for the best antique/thrift shops in the area!  So while traveling for soccer, baseball or the lake, we make a few stops to search for treasures!  Below are few of our finds!

New "Goldtone" Junky Necklace Creations

I'm not a gal that where's much gold, but I sure collect many treasures that are in the gold family.  These creations are a few of the 25 "goldtone" pieces I've recently created.
Once I started I couldn't stop!

I'm not sure what the letters of this cool key stand for,
but it's cool nonetheless!

This glass cameo is attached to a 24K plated boyd pin.

A long vintage chandelier crystal and watch face!

Kitchen Spoon & Tart Tin Pendants

A tart tin re-purposed into a focal pendant with a vintage clip earring in the center.  It's completed with a recycled fabric strip & rhinestone pin.

A gorgeous rhinestone clip earring rests on a vintage spoon.  It dangles from a vintage chandelier crystal and a shell button & a few lovely rosary beads.

From the beaches of Cozumel

"One Family...One Heart".....and most important....love! My hubby & I celebrated our 15th anniversary around Christmas 2011. We traveled back to our honeymoon resort in Cozumel and brought our son Christian (and Grandma & Grandpa of course)! While beach combing for treasures, we found this heart, which was perfect for my mini metal boxes. Christian picked out the quote, I added a few vintage beads and a chunky chain.

Auction treasures & new collections!

My oh my......auctions need to be my new adventure. We usually only go to one a year on Labor Day weekend in Park Rapids, MN. It's outside with lots of room to roam & as I like to call it "dilly dally"! We eat from the food wagon & usually find treasures for all three of us. Last month, we ventured across the river to Moorhead for an auction & this is what I found!

Vintage pins re-purposed into key chains :: charms for my "junky" bracelets.

Vintage keys :: locker pins for necklaces.

A jar of mini sand dollars :: pocket watches :: leather coin purse :: all used for jewelry

Religious rosaries:: religious medallions :: beautiful for bracelets!

Vintage Door Rosette Necklaces

In my "hunt & gathering" of vintage treasures for Let Your Spirit Soar, I'm always looking for door hardware. During a winter trip to Alexandria, MN, my husband Donovan found a fantastic collection of door rosettes! Thank you honey! You are a man after my "junky" heart!

Take only photographs :: Leave only footprints

Simple beauty in these photos taken in Valley City, North Dakota on a Sunday morning. I dropped the boys off at the hockey rink and drove to the top of the hill to respectfully explore the local cemetery.
